How to photograph jewelry for a quote
If you’re requesting an Instant Offer Range, photos help us respond faster and with fewer questions. You don’t need professional equipment — a phone is enough.
The best setup (2 minutes)
- Use indirect daylight near a window (avoid harsh direct sun)
- Place item on a neutral background (white paper or dark cloth)
- Wipe fingerprints (especially on metals and watch crystals)
Shots to take
- One wide shot (entire item)
- Two close-ups (front + side profile)
- Close-up of stamps (10K/14K/18K/Platinum) if present
- If you have a certificate, photo of the full document
For high-value items, booking an appointment is recommended for a discreet, in-person evaluation.
